SPIRIT - Program Information for Parents
If you are a parent of a high school student, consider sending your daughter/son to the non-residential SPIRIT summer camp
offered at Purdue University from July 16-20, 2012. The goal of the camp is to show participants the exciting
and wide-ranging opportunities that exist for them if they major in a computing program in college and pursue
a career in Information Technology (IT).
The summer camp is a one-week, non-residential program where participants engage in a variety of hands-on
activities that are supported by information technology. For example, students will learn to use a software tool,
called Alice, to create animated stories on a subject of their choosing. They'll also meet several successful
career professionals who will share some of the unique and beneficial ways that they have used information
technology to support their jobs.
For more information, you or your daughter/son should review the information under the Students menu group.
